Professor Dr. Khondoker Moazzem Hossain

Professor Dr. Khondoker Moazzem Hossain

Professor Dr. Khondoker Moazzem Hossain is a distinguished academic, researcher, and biotechnology expert with more than three decades of experience in higher education, scientific research, and biotechnology innovation. He currently serves as the Professor and Head of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at Daffodil International University. Prior to joining Daffodil International University, Dr. Hossain had a long and successful academic career at Khulna University, where he served as Professor (2005–2024), Associate Professor (2001–2005), and Assistant Professor (1996–2001). Earlier in his professional career, he worked as a Scientific Officer at the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (1987–1996) and also served as a Research Officer under the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Government of Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain earned his PhD in Animal Biotechnology from the University of Queensland, Australia, under a prestigious World Bank Scholarship. He further completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, through the Commonwealth Scholarship Program. He obtained his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Dairy Science from Bangladesh Agricultural University. A highly accomplished researcher, Professor Hossain has published 69 research articles in renowned national and international peer-reviewed journals. His research interests span biotechnology, genetic engineering, animal biotechnology, food biotechnology, functional foods, probiotics, nutraceuticals, livestock research, and sustainable biological innovations.

Mr. Sourav Biswas Nayan

Mr. Sourav Biswas Nayan

Mr. Sourav Biswas Nayan is an academic and researcher specializing in biotechnology, genetic engineering, food science, and bioprocess applications. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at Daffodil International University, where he is actively involved in teaching, research, and academic development. Mr. Nayan completed both his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from Khulna University, one of Bangladesh’s leading institutions in biotechnology education and research. His academic background combines strong expertise in molecular biology, biotechnology, food engineering, and applied life sciences. Prior to joining Daffodil International University, he served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Food Engineering at NPI University of Bangladesh from 2022 to 2025. Earlier, he worked as a Lecturer in the same department from 2018 to 2022, contributing significantly to curriculum development, student mentoring, and academic leadership. Mr. Nayan has also gained valuable research experience through his work as an MS Fellow at the Division of Biotechnology, Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) and as a Research Assistant at the Animal Cell Culture Laboratory, Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Discipline, Khulna University. These experiences strengthened his expertise in biotechnology research, cell culture techniques, livestock biotechnology, and applied biological sciences.
